Verna J. Keith

October 01, 1949 - May 22, 2012

Verna Jean Keith, 62, Roscoe, died peacefully at 6:26 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in her home with her husband by her side. Born October 1, 1949 in Rockford; daughter of Robert J. and Barbara (Barrett) Williams. Lived in Rockford most of her life and was married to Peter L. Keith. Attended Guilford High School class of 1967 and Rock Valley College. Employed by Camcar for 26 years and following its closing, she was employed by Roscoe Middle School for 3 years as a lunch lady. Survived two tours of Vietnam as a fiance' and wife. A strong supporter of her family through many tough times.

Survivors include her husband, Peter; daughters, Valorie (Dino) Corsolini, North Prairie, WI, Amy (Robert) Jacobson, Roscoe and Erin Ashleigh (Don) Smith, Hohenwald, TN; granddaughter, Maggie K. Jacobson; parents, Robert and Barbara Williams, Rockford; brothers, Terry (Marilyn) Williams, Phoenix, Gerald (Lorraine) Williams, Rockford and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staffs of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and Cancer Clinic, Van Matre Stroke Rehabilitation Center and the OSF Home Health for the loving care they all gave to Verna for the last almost two years.

Visitation from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, May 25, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Maple Cemetery located in Kirkland with Rev. Christopher Druce Jones officiating.
