Neighbors for 30 years
We have not only lost a wonderful neighbor but a great
friend. He was a quiet man but
one we always admired because of his love for everyone. His
family was like gold to him.
He always talked about his not
wonderful but great children and grandchildren. He was so
devoted to them it is something
you rarely see. As soon as the
weather was good he was sitting
out on his swing and always said come over and sit awhile.
My husband and he sat many times on that swing or in a chair just being good buddies.
We will miss him so much and I
know Mel is already lost when he looks out the window as the
snow melts and the yard appears
to green our friend is not there but will always live in
our hearts and we will always
see him on that swing. He was
a quiet man but when he spoke
you always was amazed and what
he had to say. We know he is
in heaven and joining his family and especially his daughter who he missed so dearly. Ruth, remember we are
always here for you. Also all
of the kids and grandkids should be so proud of all the
good times you had with him and
remember he loved you all so
much. We love you all!

I am truly blessed to be able to call you grandpa. You took me in as one of your family, and made me feel welcome. I will be forever grateful for the memories, stories, laughs, and life lessons I learned from you. Like... to always use Havoline oil, and only buy Michelin tires. Just to name a few. You were the most caring, giving, and humble man I have ever known. I will miss you greatly, but you will not be gone; because your stories and the memories will always live on in my home, and in my heart.
