Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory is now in its 4th generation of being a family owned and operated funeral home. It is owned by Tom & Maureen Fitzgerald. Their family includes daughter, Meighan, who has a career in health care; sons, Patrick, who is the 4th generation licensed funeral director at Fitzgerald's. He is also the Vice President and Director of daily operations here at the funeral home; and Michael, who is a member of the Rockford Police Department.

Not many family businesses can say today that they are in their 4th generation of serving the Rockford community. We take pride in that accomplishment and are grateful to the many families who have been loyal to us over the years. And, to the families who are calling on us for the first time we hope to keep you in the family for many generations to come.

Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory employs 10 licensed funeral directors, 8 full-time staff, and 20 part-time support staff.

We offer families a choice of using our 12,000 square foot funeral home on Rockton Avenue on the west side or our 18,000 square foot funeral home and crematory on Mulford Road on the east side of Rockford. We own all of our own vehicles, and perform all of our own embalming, removals, and cremations. Families call us for and expect the signature "Fitzgerald" service. We give nothing less.
