Merrill MihmFuneral Director/EmbalmerMerrill is a lifelong resident of Rockford since 1942. Merrill attended St. Stanislaus and St. James schools and graduated from East High School. Merrill was first interested in the funeral business at the age of 19 when he researched the activities of a funeral director at the local library. Merrill's hopes for going to mortuary school were put on hold while he served in the U.S. Navy at the age of 20. Merrill served as a cook on the destroyer USS Borieas for 2 years. Returning to Rockford, Merrill served many years in the food industry when he met his loving wife in August of 1988. In 1996, Merrill's father passed away and it was at the time he decided to fulfill his dream of becoming a Funeral Director. Merrill graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 2001. Merrill has been with Fitzgerald Funeral Home for the past 6 years and enjoys his free time with his wife, three children and his first grandson. Merrill can be reached at 815-226-2273 |
